FRUIT FEVER!!!

I officially have: Fruit Fever!!
But first, I must confess my Fruit Fail.  :(  Wer Wer Werrrrr...

So, my "juice cleanse" was a fail.  I tried to start it on Friday, and although the day started out well, it was near impossible to keep up with it as the day progressed.  Juicing with this Omega juicer takes a large chunk of time because you have to cut all the fruit into slices that fit into the "chomper tube thingy".  Then comes the clean up.  Cleaning the juicer is nothing short of a headache.  So, anyways, I have been juicing every morning and then eating regular clean meals throughout the rest of the day instead of juice all day every day.

This brings me to Fruit Fever!
Aaaghhhh!!!  I LOVE JUICING!!!!!  Although I'm calling it "Fruit Fever"--it's actually fruit and vegetable fever...it just doesn't sound as cool as DOUBLE F!!  FRUIIIT FEEVVVEERRRRRRRRR!!!!  Good thing I'm alone because I'm laughing like a maniac and growling "fruit fever" at the cats.
So far, my absolute FAV juice drink is either:
1) Carrot-Apple-Spinach
~ 4 Carrots
~ 2 Apples
~ 2 to 4 Heaping handfuls of Spinach
or
2) Pineapple-Carrot-Celery
~ 4 strips of pineapple (Less than 1/5 of the pineapple)
~ 2 Carrots
~ 2 or 3 Celery stalks

Aggghhh...LOOVE IIIIT!
And, actually, I've found that if I DON'T juice (only tried to skip juicing once on Sunday because I didn't have time to do it for breakfast), I feel lethargic and nasty.  Maybe it's all in my head, I'm not sure.

Teen Mom is on now, sooooo...GOTTA GO!

Curiousity killed the whaaa???

(Enter harp songs and glitter...)  The morning dawns...the air is fresh and warm...there's sweet pitter patter of four legged hairballs...and then there's THIS:

BAM!  The OMEGA 8006 JUICER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lately, I've been waking up and beginning my day with a sweet and savory blend of spinach, carrots, and apples.  And, actually, it's kind of good.

After watching the documentary "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead" I decided I was interested in this idea of juicing.  So, out of sheer curiosity, I splurged on a $300 juicer...little had I known that the earlier models of this particular juicer are exactly the same--just 200 dollars cheaper.  If only my curious little self had known, then my bank account wouldn't be so dead.  But I digress...back to the OMEGA 8006 JUICER (said in a rumbling Zeus like echo-y type voice)

I've found a few juice blogs and several juice recipes and starting on Friday, I will try a 3 day "juice cleanse".  Don't get me wrong: I'm the FIRST to smirk and sneer at fad diets and "cleanse" diets...but I must say: I have changed NOTHING in my diet recently--except for adding in a juice cocktail for breakfast and in the last three days I've somehow lost 4 lbs.  Water weight?  I don't think so, because I've changed NOTHING.  I eat the same thing every day--it's quite pathetic and pitiful--but again, I digress!!!  I don't get how this is working--but my curious little mind will figure it out.  Muscle weight?  That's what I'm thinking...so, it'll also be interesting to see how marathon training and weight training is effected by adding vegetable/fruit juice into the daily dietary mix.

I can say one thing for sure, this afternoon I broke out of the "regular daily Mrah meals" and ate subway for lunch.  First of all, I feel sick.  Like, barfy sick.  I had a flat bread tuna sandwich with lettuce, tomato, pepper jack cheese, cucumbers, and a tiny bit of hot sauce.  I want to die.  I'm ready to blame it on the obscene amount of mayonnaise in the tuna but just thinking about it makes me sick.  I won't be thanking Jared any time soon for putting 5 dollar foot long songs into my head.

So that's where curiosity has led me.  By the time Monday rears it's ugly head, I'll probably be on the news for burning my own house down from lack self control and food cravings.  But that's ok because even though curiosity may leave me moody and boyfriendless...my cats will still awaken me to their sweet pitter patter probably on my face.

A long walk and a strawberry daiquiri

Two words that I cannot spell:
~ Daiquiri
~hors d'oeuvres

But both are things that I quite enjoy.  Could you imagine if you lived in a world where you could not have something unless you could spell it?  We'd all be geniuses...either that or we'd be craving strawberry daiquiris and hors d'oeuvres all the time.  I'd probably try to get around it by asking for "small sandwiches with tooth picks with diced vegetables and dip"  All words I can spell without a problem with a head held high!
Do you know what else I can spell?  CLOSER PARKING SPOT!!!  This is a picture I took while I was leaving work:
See that white car all by its lonesome??  That's me.  Mind you I had already walked through ONE OTHER PARKING LOT TO GET TO THIS POINT.  My car was so far I could have used an hors d'oeuvres station at the halfway point.  Either that or a cool water station like in road races.  I'm that guy pouring water over my head and eating a sandwich as I run a marathon to my car.
And that other car to the right?  It looks somewhat blue??  It looks like he got screwed with the parking too, right?!  WRONG.  He's in the next parking lot which belongs to that shanty building that I'm so close to.  Apparently I had prime parking tonight for the building three parking lots away from my work.

And the strawberry daiquiri?  That just helped ease the pain of long distance parking and nearly 7 days of work without a day off yet.

Not all is lost in the world today, though.  I made my second successful juice drink from my brand new juicer!!  4 carrots, 1 apple, 1 orange.  BEST DRINK EVER.  More to come on that...but first I must S-L-E-E-P.

Cat Juice

Do you know how many cat lovers are out there???  No, let me correct myself, not just cat lovers but Cat Loving Bloggers!!!!  What the heck.  In trying to settle on a fitting web address I found "veggiecat", "catpaws", "catpause", and even "catjuice" (a spin off of a cat loving juicer recipe philanthropist) were all taken.  Whaaaaaat the heck.  C'mon.  Cat juice???  Who owns that?!  I'll save you the trouble: it's a girl that speaks a foreign language and likes to take pictures of herself in mirrors with her friends.  And also let me confirm that I did not actually want the blog domain of "cat juice" but I was 100% certain that it would be available.  I think even Vegas odds would have been on my side.

Well, so, this brings me to veggie piggy.  For those of you who know me, you probably agree this is a fitting web domain...and for those of you who don't know me--you will soon agree.

But food isn't what this piggy is all about.  I'm relating this blog to a grab bag of sorts.  Perhaps I'll talk about cats, or fashion, things that sparkle, cats, wedding plans, health and wellness, cats, Teen Mom, or perhaps I'll grace your computer screen with elaborate pictures and words about cats--I know how many of you bloggers out there love your cats!

Today's posting is a result of me, status post a double shift at the hospital.  But this is how my mind generally works.  A spattering of confetti thoughts with a hefty helping of glitter...and....
